The power of personal choice for reducing carbon emissions.

Beyond Zero is Toyota’s vision to reach beyond carbon neutrality with our products, services, and operations; and find new ways to make a positive impact on our planet and society. We currently offer more low and zero emissions vehicles combined than any other automaker to give customers the most choices to reduce their carbon footprint.

Electric icon The Power of Choice

Our lineup brings you more than just your choice of electrified powertrains: Hybrid (HEV), Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV), All-Electric (BEV), and Fuel Cell Electric (FCEV) *. Whatever you’re looking for in a ride – size, style, efficiency, speed – there’s a vehicle to suit your lifestyle that allows you to put more electrified miles on the road.

Earth icon Going Above and Beyond

Whether Toyota is decreasing its plastic waste, supporting water conservation efforts, or expanding programs that protect critical species, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and creating a positive impact on society.

More Electrified Vehicles on the Road

There are a limited supply of critical minerals to produce lithium batteries. By spreading out these limited resources across Hybrid (HEV), Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) and All-Electric (BEV) vehicle batteries, we can produce more low emission vehicles. The materials needed to produce a battery in a single long-range BEV can be spread into approximately 6 equivalent PHEV batteries or roughly 90 equivalent HEV batteries. We believe it’s important to diversify our portfolio so you can have the freedom to decide how you’d like to drive change.

The Power of Choice

Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) use a combination of gas engine and electric motor(s) to maximize power and efficiency.

Toyota hybrid car

Toyota hybrids start, refuel and handle like the gas-only Toyotas you already know and love—just with better mpg.

With an electric motor for potentially quick launches and the power of a gas engine, Toyota hybrids often outperform their gas-only counterparts.

Enjoy fuel savings and reduce your carbon footprint.

Plug-In Hybrid

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) run just like hybrids but thanks to their larger battery pack, they can run farther on electric power alone.

Toyota Plug-In Hybrid car

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) intelligently go between rechargeable battery power and conventional fueling systems to give you the best of both worlds.

A gas engine and electric motor powertrain seamlessly work together to give you the power you want, when you want it.

A fully charged battery pack lets you run longer using only electric power.

Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles can bring about potential incentives.

Fuel Cell Electric

Stored hydrogen travels to the Fuel Cell Stack, where it combines with oxygen from the outside air to create electricity and power the motor.

Toyota Fuel Cell Electric car

Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) utilize hydrogen to generate their own electric charge. As for their emissions? Nothing but water vapor from the tailpipe.

Mirai’s premium rear-wheel-drive platform delivers one exciting, zero-emission ride for up to 402 miles. *

Mirai runs on hydrogen, and its only by-product is water.

Complimentary fuel for up to six years or $15,000, whichever comes first,* when purchased; or three years when leased.

These pure-electric vehicles replace combustion engines with electric motors, providing smooth and almost instantaneous torque.

Toyota All-Electric car

Pure Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) use only powerful electric motors to provide smooth, silent and clean propulsion.

Feel the smooth acceleration, instant torque delivery and quiet drive.

Reducing CO2 emissions by going fully electric is one way we can lessen our impact on the environment.

All-Electric vehicles can bring about potential federal and state incentives. * They may result in lower overall service and maintenance costs.
