Toyota Plans to Expand Business in the U.S. with Introduction of Mississippi Plant

Here at Toyota Marin, we are always thrilled to hear positive developments from our automaker. That is why we are pleased to announce that the brand is expanding its reach in the United States by launching yet another Toyota plant. The new location is set for Mississippi and is projected to create up to 400 jobs within the community.

This endeavor is a part of the $10 billion investment Toyota proposed to make in the U.S. over the next five years. For this building in particular, the company plans to allocate $170 million. This funding will oversee the replacement of old assembly lines at the current facility to make production more efficient. There will also be a visitor and training center. At the former department will be a public gallery with over 5,000 square feet, and it will showcase interactive exhibits and more to teach people about the history and the procedure of the automaker. The latter department will be made to accommodate as many as 120 people, training new employees through state-of-the-art technologies. The new plant in its entirety will cover 1,700 acres and is projected to produce 170,000 vehicles every year—20,000 of which are best-selling Toyota Corollas that are exported to 18 countries.

With consideration to this feat, it is clear that Toyota is committed to the further development of facilities here on American soil. This is just one reason why you can also take pride in driving a Toyota. Want to learn more ways that the brand continues to live up to consumer expectations?
