Toyota Donates Five Vehicles to Deserving Charities Across the Nation

In conjunction with the Today Show's "Lend a Hand' series, Toyota has just given one of their new vehicles to five deserving charities across the U.S.

Toyota has partnered with "Lend a Hand" for two years now, helping local charities bring hope and opportunity to their respective communities. Previously, the Japanese automaker has participated in the weeklong "Lend a Hand" series, donating one Toyota Sienna in both 2009 and 2010.

Toyota is thrilled to support Today Show's 'Lend a Hand' series in recognizing the important work of local charities," says Michael Rouse, VP Philanthropy, Toyota. "In addition, to participating in the 'Lend a Hand' series, Toyota is also currently running a separate program on Toyota's Facebook [page -] called '100 Cars for Good' where we invite the public to help us donate 100 cars in 100 days to charities they consider worthy. So naturally, Toyota lending a hand to charities that Today deems worthy is a natural extension of our philosophy to put cars on the road doing good, all across the country."1

Today's "Lend a Hand" began in 2002. The goal of the organization as previously mentioned is to help deserving charities better their communities. But really, it's much more than that. The series was originally designed specifically to help charities that lost funding as money was diverted to September 11th philanthropic efforts. Since, it has continued to enable charities and vicariously assist communities in need.
