Toyota Sets Standards High for Hydrogen Vehicle Production

Growing up, we were all told to set our goals high and shoot for the stars. Well, it seems as though Toyota really took that motto to heart. Upon unveiling the automaker's new hydrogen-powered FCV-R concept car, Didier Leroy, Head of Operations, announced that Toyota will sell tens of thousands of hydrogen-powered vehicles by the end of the decade.

A bold statement? Sure. Do we have confidence that Toyota will carry through? Absolutely. Part of our assurance comes from bearing witness to the technological advancements found in new Toyota vehicles. Toyota Marin also recognizes that Toyota is one of the foremost leaders in alternative fuel vehicles.

Further bolstering our confidence, the automaker has informed the public that it will first test fuel-cell vehicle technology before bringing a saloon-sized, hydrogen-powered vehicle to market in 2015. This strategy will make certain that enough data is gathered and sufficient tweaks are made before the alternative vehicle hits dealers like Toyota Marin at 445 Francisco Blvd. East San Rafael, CA 94901.

While other automakers are slowly joining the race to successful fuel alternatives, Business Green makes a good point in saying, "Toyota's status as one of the world's largest automaker's gives the new strategy global resonance."1 In addition to the hydrogen-powered vehicle offerings, Toyota has also made significant strides with electric variants of the Toyota RAV4 and a hybrid model of the Toyota Yaris.

As Toyota continues to evolve and transform its alternative-fuel vehicle offerings, Toyota Marin encourages you to keep checking our Toyota blog for the latest announcements. If you come up with questions at any point in time, don't hesitate to contact one of our brand ambassadors online.
