Toyota Fun-Vii Offers "Windows to the World"

Every inch of every new Toyota model holds exceptional innovation and high brand standards. But let's be honest. Amidst powertrains, infotainment systems, and an array of other rapidly evolving features, the car door generally doesn't grab too much attention. However, that's about to change.

As part of its technologically-advanced Fun-Vii concept, Toyota created vehicle doors featuring touch-panel screens. Drivers can employ the screens to display images, words and even brand messages on the vehicle's shiny black exterior. Operating akin to a smartphone, the model also allows drivers to communicate with the outside world. Inside the Fun-Vii, Toyota has enabled consumers alter the vehicle's light, color and pattern based on mood.

Pretty cool right? Not only does the Fun-Vii call out to a generation of tech-minded youngsters but it taps into a general society that functions via high levels of constant connectivity. What's more, the model's capabilities extend beyond the Tokyo Auto Show floor where it was revealed. There's a good chance Toyota will actually integrate pieces of the Fun-Vii concept into future models on the market. A "Windows to the World" project is already in place to deliver interactive vehicle windows to the production line.
