Toyota hybrid cars are leading the march for a "Future Car Challenge". Toyota low emission / low carbon cars will be out in force at a November RAC Future Car Challenge event. The stars of this annual event will be three generations of the ground breaking and award winning Toyota Prius hybrid.
On November 6th, low-emission, electric, and hybrid vehicles are going to travel a 60-mile course from Brighton to London. This is part of a huge effort to display the best energy performance during the route. This event is Organized by the Royal Automobile Club. 250,000 spectators are expected to turn out for the Challenge, which will demonstrate the advantages of owning low carbon vehicles.
To mark two million sales and Toyota's 10th anniversary of the hybrid car, Prius models old and new will take part in the race.
Toyota will also unveil its latest model at the race, a Toyota Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle Advanced. It features an electric motor along with hydrogen fuel tanks; the vehicle emits no carbon emissions at all.
A Prius Plug-in Hybrid and one with 'hybrid synergy drive' will also be entered in the competition. The Prius Plug-in just debuted recently throughout the UK, and should be available in the US by late 2011.
